WHAT DOES A RIPPER DO ON A EXCAVATOR?

图片
At Glikr Machinery, we manufacture a wide range of  excavator attachments  that can be a standard part of your construction machinery or a custom one. It all depends on the type of project you are working on and the results you want, as well as which excavator attachments you need to use with your construction machinery. This week's focus is on Rippers, also commonly referred to as Ripper Tooths. all of our excavator attachments (including rippers) are perfect for the type of work the attachment will perform.   What is a Ripper? A ripper is an attachment that can be fitted to an excavator and then used to break up hard ground and surfaces, as well as rocks and difficult areas that would not initially be broken up with an excavator bucket.   Rippers are a cost effective attachment and are used extensively on construction sites dealing with structural demolition as well as preparing the ground for new framing. Rippers are also used extensively for landscape work as wel...

HOW TO DETERMINE IF THE EXCAVATOR BUCKET WILL FIT YOUR EXCAVATOR?

图片
All the digging, trenching, scraping, and scraping work performed in an excavator is possible because of the   excavator bucket  mounted on the end of the excavator's arm. And because every action adds a little wear and tear to the bucket, the bucket always has a limited life span.   If your bucket is about to run out and you're looking for a used excavator bucket to replace it, you may be wondering what to look for in your search. To help you in your search and ensure you find the perfect replacement excavator bucket, we've put together this short excavator bucket buying guide.   Used Excavator Buckets vs. New Aftermarket Excavator Buckets If you're in the market for a  replacement excavator bucket , you'll quickly find that you have a choice between a new aftermarket bucket and a used excavator bucket. If cost is a factor, the advantages of a used bucket are obvious, and since buckets are sold for a variety of reasons, from design changes needed by the operato...

Long-Reach Excavator Advantages and Operating Guidelines

图片
As its name suggests, the long-reach excavator   has an extended jib between the machine body and the working arm, which is powered by oil cylinder. The long arm is equipped with a set of oil cylinder operating system to provide power for the movement of the oil cylinders. All of these designs double the working range of the bucket, which can go higher, deeper and further. The great improvements make the long-arm excavator an especial digging tool for minerals, docks, storage and emergency rescue, which has great practical value.    Long Reach Arm and Boom To be specific, the long-arm digger has the following advantages:   1. Wider Applications   The long arm can work in the tough and extreme working environment where other excavators can ’ t reach. This unique advantage makes it reliable enough to handle various constructions.   2. Higher Standard   Strict technology and examination standards have been set to manufacture this machine, which guarantees...

UNDERSTANDING EXCAVATOR BOOM CONFIGURATIONS

图片
If you're not familiar with excavators, or if you use product manuals to specify a machine, these boom tips may be helpful the next time you're in the market for a machine for a specific application.   Long-Reach Boom:   Long-reach booms  are great for cleaning out ponds and canals — jobs where you’re digging out in the water and need the extra reach. Boom length varies based on manufacturer and machine model. For example, the long-reach version of the Volvo EC380 excavator is 27′ 11″ (8.5 m) compared to the 21′ 2″ (6.45 m) standard boom and 16′ 5″ (5 m) arm that provides a max reach of 48′ 5″ (14.75 m). Mono Boom (Standard Boom):  This is what we call the standard setup - it offers good coverage and the right range of bucket sizes and is by far the most popular setup. Some customers use mass excavation setups, which are shorter moving arms and shorter bucket bars.  Long-Reach Boom Two-piece booms:  Two-piece booms are very versatile and can actually...

HOW TO CHOOSE EXCAVATOR ATTACHMENTS?

图片
Excata  should not be used under any circumstances for the lifting of persons as they are primarily designed for excavating with a bucket and consequently are capable of operating speeds and movements which make them totally unsuitable for the lifting of persons.   Access to height on construction sites should be by machines designed for the purpose of lifting persons such as MEWPs, mast climbing work platforms, suspended access platforms or passenger/goods hoists, or by the use of scaffolds.   In special cases where an approach by less dangerous means is not reasonably feasible, a suitable crane with a manned basket may be used. The regulation requires lifting operations to be properly planned, properly supervised, and carried out in a safe manner, and this includes the use of earthmoving machinery for lifting operations.   Supervisors should first carry out a risk assessment, which includes ensuring that the earthmoving machinery is suitable for the task, that ther...

HOW DO EXCAVATORS WORK?

图片
Some construction projects require deep excavation to move large amounts of material, so excavators are needed to perform such work. From sewer, plumbing, and wiring operations to the construction of urban complexes, roads, highways, and paving, excavators are useful for performing high-performance deep work. This will allow us to obtain the necessary information when choosing a model. A hydraulic excavator is a heavy-duty machine with hydraulic arms of various sizes with blades at the tips, designed to move on wheels or chains, and also has the ability to rotate 360 degrees around its own axis.   Its functions include digging, rotating, moving, loading, shifting, and unloading objects. The machine is commonly used to open up recesses where pipes, drains, and cables will be installed, as well as to excavate foundations or ramps.    Excavator Boom Uses of the hydraulic excavator. Digging large trenches Excavation of materials and structures Slanting combs above the ...

HOW TO CHOOSE THE PROPER LONG REACH EXCAVATOR?

图片
Typically used for excavation work over longer distances, for example, for all those hard-to-reach areas, and to maximize production. While externally it is a single bucket excavator, the design of a long reach excavator can withstand higher loads, resulting in greater excavation force and lifting capacity. This technique allows excavation at greater depths of increased complexity, i.e. excavating larger volumes of soil and moving it over greater distances, than a conventional crawler or wheeled excavator. This type of excavator, therefore, has several times the performance of those with a shorter,   conventional boom . These excavators are capable of carrying out work in remote and inaccessible areas. The machine can cope with tasks that exceed the capabilities of other specialist equipment. However, efficiency can only be achieved with adequate operator experience.   Applications: From Mining To Construction Historically, excavators have been used since ancient Egypti...
